Scores updated up to and including Sunday 31 October 2004.  Note that fitness reductions are 10% per week from beginning of October instead of 2 points per week as previously.

Attendance Points

Attending any club ride, social or event on any day gains you 10 attendance points.  There is an award of a trophy and prize at the end of September to the youngster who has the most points.

Fitness Points

Attending any club ride where cycling takes place gains you 10 fitness points, but you lose 10% of your points whenever you miss a ride.  If a ride is called off because of bad weather but you take part in the badminton or swimming session that is always arranged instead, you don't lose any points.  Fitness points are required to achieve certificates at each level.

Towards Stage 1 Certificate

bulletD1    Destination 1    Cycle to a cafe as part of a ride
bulletM1    Mileage 1    Cycle on a ride of length 10 miles or more
bulletO1    Offroad 1    Complete at least 500m of off-road riding on a single ride   
bulletF1    Fitness 1    Must have at least 30 fitness points when all other targets have been met
bulletW1    Workshop 1    Correctly oil a chain with own oil, and keep the chain in good condition for all rides

Towards Stage 2 Certificate

bulletD2    Destination 2    Cycle to a reservoir (such as the Avon Dam) as part of a ride
bulletM2    Mileage 2    Cycle on a ride of length 20 miles or more
bulletO2    Offroad 2    Complete at least 1km of off-road riding on a single ride   
bulletF2    Fitness 2    Must have at least 60 fitness points when all other targets have been met
bulletW2    Workshop 2    Fix a puncture using own tools, puncture kit and pump

Towards Stage 3 Certificate

bulletD3    Destination 3    Cycle to a beach as part of a ride
bulletM3    Mileage 3    Cycle on a ride of length 30 miles or more
bulletO3   Offroad 3    Complete at least 2km of off-road riding on a single ride   
bulletF3    Fitness 3    Must have at least 90 fitness points when all other targets have been met
bulletW3    Workshop 3    Change brake and gear cables, and adjust using own tools

Towards Stage 4 Certificate

bulletD4    Destination 4    Cycle to a youth hostel as part of a ride
bulletM4    Mileage 4    Cycle on a ride of length 40 miles or more
bulletO4   Offroad 4    Complete at least 4km of off-road riding on a single ride   
bulletF4    Fitness 4    Must have at least 120 fitness points when all other targets have been met
bulletW4    Workshop 4    Re-grease both hubs using own tools and grease
