Ride Reports
TV night: Agents of Shield
Our Home Cinema social wrapped Season 2 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., with Coulson’s team confronting Hydra as the Inhumans emerge, culminating in a tense, bittersweet finale. Drinks and refreshments from the clubroom shop rounded off the evening.
Nando's: Plymouth
With Nando’s packed, we diverted to Pizza Hut and made the most of a 2-for-1 voucher, eating well for a modest outlay. We rounded off a relaxed evening with a few games of pool at Tenpin.
Broadhempston
Work called one of our number away at Dart Bridge, so time dictated a shorter route up Green Lane to Broadhempston; we ate in the park, where the surprise was a new village hall taking shape, before heading back via Staverton and Caddaford.
Cinema: Spectre
We joined a packed Vue Plymouth for the new Bond, Spectre - a sleek, globe-trotting thriller as 007 hunts a shadowy organisation - delivering top quality entertainment. Meerkat Wednesday discounts sweetened the night.
Avon Dam
A misty, bog-strewn ride to Avon Dam turned a bright start into a squelchy adventure across the moor. Will soaked his new shoes in the mire, and Lawrence's bid to ride the last bog ended with a muddy tumble—spirits intact despite the lost views.
Fireworks: Plymouth
The afternoon rain cleared to leave a perfect evening in Plymouth; Bonfire Night delivered another excellent display.
TV night: Star Wars: Episode II
A simple social evening: we watched Star Wars Episode II on Blu-ray together, a warm-up for December’s new release.
Badminton: Ashburton and computer games
Thick, persistent rain scuppered our car-assisted Haldon plan, so we turned the day into a sociable indoor double: badminton at Ashmoor Recreation Centre, then computer games at Crofters. Spirits stayed high despite the weather, with hopes pinned on drier skies next week.
Supermarket trip
Having already watched Star Wars the night before and with just two of us turning up, Cinema Night became a quick Tesco visit—an unpretentious, good‑humoured alternative.
Games evening
A relaxed games evening centred on testing the club PCs’ two new graphics cards, with everyone diving into Black Ops 3 and enjoying the smoother play the upgrade delivered.
Badminton: Ivybridge, movies, quizzes and games
Relentless rain turned it into a relaxed indoor day of Star Wars, quizzes and games, with a badminton session to burn off energy; Dillan’s racket came back bent for the only mishap, and we rounded off with more computer games and a final quiz.
Computer games
Only two of us turned up for the social, so we spent the evening linked on the PC network, playing various games in a quiet, relaxed session.
