Sun, 29 Jan 2017

With rain set in all day we shelved the ride for badminton at Ashmoor Recreation Centre, turning it into a relaxed social. A highlight was Michael’s new Nikon delivering sharp indoor shots without flash; back at Crofters there were the usual computer games.

Strong winds and heavy showers shelved the ride, so we made a day of it indoors: badminton at Ivybridge Leisure Centre and café pizzas, bookended by games—Little Big Planet 3 early on, then Supreme Commander.

A relaxed club evening swapped pedals for pizza at the Plymouth Barbican, then on to Tenpin for lively Air Hockey when the pool tables were all taken, rounded off by a thrifty stop at Sainsbury’s for £1 Bakewell tarts.

A long‑awaited push to Torcross at last, smooth outward miles before a cold headwind and climbs made the return a grind. Lunch centred on the Boathouse, reopened after its fire—burgers worth the wait—while Lawrence skimmed stones on the beach.
